This week, Mercury enters its latest retrograde period; the Sun trines feisty Mars and the Moon’s North Node; the second New Moon of the calendar month is in Sagittarius, the sign of big dreams and adventures, but its square to Saturn says they won’t come true without some work. And a mini-lesson from March 2023 about Pluto transiting the houses of the birth chart. Plus: Up in a tree, family football, and are you as doomed as you feel?

[1:14] Mercury stations retrograde (Nov. 25, 6:42 pm PST) at 22°40’ Sagittarius. As a planet changes direction, we feel its presence more. Mercury is associated with communication, learning, travel and commerce. Keep your schedule light. Double-check travel plans and anything that involves communication.
[3:39] The Sun trines the North Node (Nov. 26, 10:32 am PST) at 4°59’ Sagittarius and Aries. Although not exact, there is a grand trine involving the Sun, North Node, and Mars in Leo. The Sun at this trine is on the Sabian symbol 5 Sagittarius, An old owl up in a tree. The North Node is on 5 Aries, A triangle with wings that speaks to the grand trine. Use your wisdom to recognize when you need to make an effort.
[7:30] The Sun trines Mars (Nov. 27, 12:06 am PST) at 5°34’ Sagittarius-Leo. The Sun’s Sabian symbol is 6 Sagittarius, A game of cricket. On Thanksgiving holiday in the U. S., blow off steam through physical activity.
[8:58] Moon Report! The Sagittarius New Moon (Nov. 30, 10:21 pm PST, 9°32’ Sagittarius) is on Sabian symbol 10 Sagittarius, A golden haired goddess of opportunity. The Sun and Moon are square Saturn in Pisces, so expect to work to attain your dreams. April will be offering an donors-only webinar on the day of this lunation. [11:10] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This New Moon begins a three-year LPFC. The First Quarter comes on Aug. 30, 2025, the Full Moon on May 31, 2026, the Last Quarter on Feb. 27, 2027.
[12:45] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On Nov. 24 (9:34 am PST), the Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune. It’s VOC for 5 hours 45 minutes and enters Libra on Nov. 25 (3:19 am PST). Trust your instincts, but also consider the facts. This is an opportunity to get in the habit of treating others with kindness and empathy.
[13:36] On Nov. 27 (1:14 am PST), the Moon in Libra sextiles Mercury in Sagittarius. It’s VOC for 15 hours 7 minutes (!!!), then enters Scorpio (4:21 pm PST). Make sure you’re communicating fairly and diplomatically, and double-check those Thanksgiving holiday travel plans. Avoid reviving old grievances at the family dinner table.
[14:29] On Nov. 29 (10:19 pm PST), the Moon in Scorpio trines Neptune. It is VOC for 5 hours 34 minutes, then enters Sagittarius on Nov. 30 (3:53 am PST). This is an opportunity to use some kind of sleep-promoting modality or rituals for a night of restful sleep.
