The Lilies of the Field
Each year when the Full Moon falls in Pisces, we’re asked to reacquaint ourselves with the value of retreat. Work, itineraries, and striving to become better, faster, and more accomplished, dominate our consciousness while the Sun moves through diligent Virgo. April, I listened to your newest podcast abut Pisces and naps over the weekend, and then this morning I had a total stroke of genius as I was staggering out of bed at 5 a.m. to get ready for class.
According to Stephanie Gailing (but I have seen it elsewhere too), Virgo and Pisces have to do with the pineal gland, among other things. Because I am in a neuroscience class, and I am not historically good at science and math, I’ve been studying compulsively, so I know that the pineal gland regulates sleep and wakefulness. And boom! I see another way Virgo and Pisces complement one another. It may seem lazy to a Virgo to get as much sleep as Pisces requires, but the truth is, if you don’t get that much sleep, your pineal gland goes out of whack- and then you have less of the sharp attention to detail that Virgo requires. IN YOUR FACE VIRGO!
Maybe I do understand neuroscience a little better than I thought!
