New Moon in Libra: The Red Wall

As today’s New Moon in Libra (1:12 am PDT, 4:12 am EDT) ushered in one of the bloodiest days in Wall Street’s history, I gave up all pretense at working and took to the sofa with my trusty laptop, the better to monitor the massacre on both internet and cable TV. I like to give such momentous events my full attention. Unfortunately, I failed to give my full attention to the fact that my foot was wrapped around the power cord of my laptop. Eventually I emerged from my sloth to get a drink and found myself taking a long, slow-motion lurch toward the kitchen, ricocheting off the kitchen table and suffering a glancing scrape to my forearm, thrusting my foot into the cat’s supper dish, and yes, pulling my laptop to the floor. Amazingly, the laptop was unscathed and my arm came right after a couple of hours with a bag of frozen peas on it. The cat’s dish was a total loss, though (as was the Dow Jones Industrial average by the market’s close).

Have I mentioned I’ve got Sagittarius rising?

Anywho. Here’s a piece from the Big Sky archives to celebrate this Libra New Moon season. And as always, don’t forget to check in with my friends at Mooncircles.com for some additional new Moon goodness!

Libra New Moon Meditation:
The Red Wall

The artistry associated with Libra, the sign highlighted by this New Moon, is a reflection of Libra’s geniusfor combining one element with its natural complement. Libra, with its inherent sense of cosmic balance, delights in bringing together the right mix of people for a stimulating dinner party, two single friends who might find each other interesting, or an interesting selection of paint colors for a room. We tend to imagine that such artistry is a mysterious talent granted to some and not to others, a cosmic gift that can never be truly taught or learned. But is this true? After all, Libra is an air sign, more analytical than instinctual. Surely the gift of gracious living is available to all of us who are willing to learn.…. (read the full article)

Sigh… Today is my birthday, and this Libra is sitting here wondering why the paint color that seemed so perfect on the chip looks so awful on the wall.

    So I can relate!

Oh happy birthday, Susie, to one of my favorite Librans! Well, I’ve painted every wall in my house at least twice, and I’ve picked up an opinion or two along the way. First, you really can’t tell from the chips at all, you’ve got to do a nice big patch on a couple of different walls. The light in your room will be much different from the light in the paint store, and that makes a huge difference. And colors always look darker once you get them on the wall, so unless you like very strong colors, best to go one shade lighter than the chip you like!

Well, happy painting. Getting the color right can be frustrating, but painting itself is so meditative. Many happy solar returns!

Me Libra too, 8th house Sun? I love this article, very inspirational. The math comparison was right on. Thanks.

Sorry, but your story was quite amusing (hope you didn’t hurt yourself too much there).

My sister is a Libra, I will tell here the news… ;-)
