FULL MOON/LUNAR ECLIPSE

Sun at 1.52 Pisces / Moon at 1.52 Virgo
The Wheat and the Chaff
For two years, I’ve observed my Pisces friends closely, trying to understand the elusive quality that fuels their warm-hearted popularity, generosity of spirit, and love of Desperate Housewives. I’ve battled the demons of my own judgements, snobbery, and unrealistic expectations. I’ve reached toward my elitist Virgo Midheaven, and instead produced a sweet little cupcake of a book that sprang from the soulful, collective longings of my Pisces fourth house, the house of home and nurturing, the primordial birthplace of everything else in the chart. And I’m left wondering: Have I failed Virgo, or made friends with Pisces? Or something in between?… read the full article here

Wow. Thanks for this post. I have what I’ve always thought of as a horrid t-square that involves a 9th house Pisces Moon, 12hVenus in Gemini and Virgo in Pluto in the 3rd house. It’s put me through the wringer but your post has put certain things in perspective for me, namely:
“How can we connect with others with a high level of craft and artistry without crushing ourselves – and others – under the weight of our own perfectionism?”
I love high culture and the arts. But, however, I’ve never believed the line that if something is popular it is automatically lacking in artistry or craft. I think you can have both. I think you can reach the masses and write gorgeous prose. After all, when you reach the masses, you’ve got a direct link into the collective unconscious and that’s a definite source of beauty and power, imo. Anyway, THANK YOU. I think I understand my mission now. (Pisces Moon conj. North Node.)
I can’t wait to get your book!
(I’ve ordered it on Amazon. Supposedly it should be here any day now!) As one of your friends who eschews popular astrology as mostly harmful, I’m already convinced that your cupcake is more than you give it credit for. Because you are such good friends with your Virgo, your Pisces is going to benefit. Heck, I see more Virgo/Pisces marriages than any other opposite combo! And there’s a reason for that. The two need each other for balance more than any other zodiacal opposites. The Virgo work that goes into Desperate Housewives and reality TV is transparent to the viewers — rigorous writing and editing produce the results that make the end product so accessible. So, I’m celebrating with you!
What a fine article on the Virgo-Pisces axis, April. I think you’ve embraced the delicious world of butter-cream frosting on that cute wedding cake that graces your book…and have starting loving (if ever so warily) the populist within. Cheers, Natori
Hm, making me think about all my Virgo planets and how to reconcile the innate discrimination that can’t be ignored (without it getting more loud and insistent) with the desire to reach out more…
Ach, not only does this eclipse land on my Mercury and Venus/Pluto (0 and 2 Virgo, which is getting Saturn transited now, too)… but that upcoming Saturn-Uranus opposition will freaking land on my Sun at 18 Virgo. Can I get a break here?
Oh, and (sorry, enough about me) so happy for your new book – hope it sells millions!
Don’t you dare berate yourself over this lovely book. I just bought another copy as a gift for my friend.
Thanks for sharing your Virgo/Pisces/eclipse/etc. thoughts, all, and for indulging me in yet more book-related angst.
Yesterday was a pretty frazzled day, I found, though at least the clouds parted long enough last night for us to glimpse the rather glorious eclipse.
The immediate fallout from this eclipse for me (almost exactly square my Ascendant) is that I finally got my poor old #14 molar pulled this afternoon. It took less than 30 seconds, I think, after all that worry and hand-wringing. I even got to bring the poor little guy home in a hermetically sealed envelope to stow amongst my treasures!
I think you’re supposed to put it under your pillow for the tooth fairy, no? Glad it went well.
Heh… I totally would, leslee, except I’m pretty sure our cat Spike would give the tooth fairy a run for her money.
